How it works
This is not a plain D-Day counter. Korean contracts, delivery notes, and CS SLAs usually say “within 10 business days.” Weekends plus 법정공휴일 and 대체공휴일 (substitute holidays) have to come out of that count, or the due date you write down will be wrong.
The calculator ships a year-by-year Korean holiday calendar in the browser. Solar public holidays (New Year’s Day, Independence Movement Day, Children’s Day, Memorial Day, Liberation Day, National Foundation Day, Hangeul Day, Christmas), the three-day Seollal and Chuseok windows, Buddha’s Birthday, Constitution Day from 2026, and substitute days generated from the Public Holiday Regulation are all applied locally. Known election days and gazetted temporary holidays can be toggled on.

Nothing is uploaded. Lunar festival dates cover 2024–2032 (KASI calendar abstracts). Outside that window only solar holidays and weekends apply. Last-minute temporary holidays may be missing until they are gazetted.
FAQ
Which days are removed from the business-day count?
Saturdays, Sundays, legal public holidays, and substitute holidays. Labor Day (1 May) and election/temporary holidays are optional checkboxes. New Year’s Day and Memorial Day never receive a substitute day.
Does “N business days from the start date” include the start date?
No. Monday + 1 business day is Tuesday. Friday + 1 business day is the following Monday if no holiday sits in between. The range mode does include both endpoints, matching Excel NETWORKDAYS.
How are substitute holidays (대체공휴일) decided?
If a Seollal or Chuseok window day falls on Sunday, or if Children’s Day, a national day, Buddha’s Birthday, Christmas, Labor Day, or Constitution Day falls on Saturday or Sunday, the next non-holiday weekday becomes a substitute. Two public holidays landing on the same weekday also create a substitute (for example Children’s Day + Buddha’s Birthday in 2025).
Are Labor Day and Constitution Day included?
Labor Day is on by default because most delivery and CS calendars already skip 1 May. Uncheck it for a strict pre-2026 government-office calendar. Constitution Day (17 July) is included automatically from 2026, when it returned as a public holiday.
Are election days and temporary holidays complete?
Gazetted National Assembly, presidential, and local election dates plus the 1 October 2024 temporary holiday are included. Newly announced bridge holidays will not appear until the database is updated—double-check official notices for those.
